Devotional #4-Day 2: Stepping Onto the Boat Anyway

Opening Stillness

Pause for a moment. Notice where your body is tense. Breathe into that place and soften it. You don’t have to be brave today. You don’t have to feel ready. Ask God to hold you steady as you read.

Reflection

Candice saw paddle boats and immediately wanted in. Faith said no without hesitation. I knew better. We don’t paddle boat. We don’t float. And none of us can swim. But one disappointed look later, I whispered yes.

Sometimes we step into situations knowing full well we aren’t prepared. Not because we’re reckless, but because we’re human. We hope it will work out. We hope we’ll figure it out as we go.

God is not surprised by our hesitation or our fear. He walks with us even when our yes is whispered and unsure.

Scripture

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”
Proverbs 3:5 (ESV)

Soul Question

What “boat” have you stepped into feeling unprepared?

Prayer

God, help me trust You when I don’t feel ready. Strengthen me when my confidence is weak. Amen.
